Crowne Plaza Queenstown’s Duty Manager Tereza Vu is no stranger to the hospitality business. She’s had an interest in the industry since she was young, when she used to throw secret kids parties at home while her parents were at work.
She’s been with IHG for just over two years, starting at InterContinental Wellington before moving to Queenstown after a short break.
“I chose Hospitality because of personality. I am quite social, open and love meeting new people,” said Vu, “I also love that Hospitality is very dynamic and fast moving, no day is the same so I never get bored. There are many growth opportunities to grow and develop easily across quite a number of fields.”
Although personal circumstances led Tereza to Queenstown, she says it was a blessing in disguise. “I had to move down to Queenstown due to unique circumstances but so far I have loved it. It’s very different to anywhere else in New Zealand, the scenery is beautiful and it’s got a very unique vibe, filled with tons of international people and different cultures, which I love” said Vu.
When asked what she would change about the office, Vu suggested adding a puppy corner and a board game station for breaks and down time. She’s also got a hidden talent for knitting and crocheting. She enjoys reading, going for walks with her flatmates dog Willow, jamming on her guitar, singing and watching movies during her time away from the hotel.
Crowne Plaza Queenstown is lucky to have a team filled with people like Tereza who are passionate about hospitality and dedicated to creating amazing guest experiences.
